The Brief
Whilst at university I engaged in the unit Web Prototyping (now known as 'Introduction to Web Design'). In this unit we had to create websites based off HTML and CSS (no JavaScript) code that we wrote.

Although to be a interactive designer you do not need to necessarily know code, it is important to at least be familiar with the languages used by front-end developers, which was the aim of this unit. I made my website about a fictional online travel guide. I aimed to use aesthetically pleasing imagery, along with the ability to understand and use the website.

Takeaways

Follow-through
It is important to continue on with the project, even when hitting 'snags' along the journey. Due to my limited capabilities in code, at times I realised that what I wasn't doing I wasn't capable of. So I had to revaluate and find a new way to do what I wanted, and to create something as close as possible to my original idea.
Feedback
Throughout the creation of my website, I was able to receive feedback and advise from my tutor. Receiving feedback was crucial to the improvement of my website, as well as my skills set. This included feedback with the grading of assessment. I gave me additional information that would be valuable for future web designing.
Feasibility
As I am not a front-end developer, and have basic coding knowledge, I knew that what I would have liked to have created would not be possible, as I do not have that level of knowledge/skill. By keeping the project feasible with my limitations, I was able to provide a complete project within the timeframe that was still visually appealing and with good UI practices.
